Tight Junction_MOC
Tight junction은 상피세포 시트에서 인접 세포 사이의 공간을 봉합하여 분자의 paracellular 이동을 차단하고, 동시에 apical/basolateral 막 단백질이 섞이지 않도록 막는 fence 역할을 한다.

Tight junction을 구성하는 sealing strand는 두 인접 세포의 각 plasma membrane에 박힌 transmembrane 단백질들의 긴 열로 이루어지며, 이들의 extracellular domain이 직접 adhesion하여 세포 사이 공간을 폐쇄한다.

Tight junction은 보통 adherens junction과 desmosome의 apical 쪽에 위치하며, 이 세 junction이 함께 junctional complex를 형성한다 (→ epithelial cells in the small intestine).
